In accordance with the instructions con-
tained in Your Lordship's despatch No. 203 of the
30th August last, to Sir Ernest Satow, I have the
honour to enclose for Your Lordship's information
copy of a despatch, No. 44 of the 7th instant, which
I have addressed to His Majesty's Minister in Peking
concerning the case of Young Kui Wan who was murder-
od in HongKong on the 10th January last and the ques-
tion of the complicity of the Chinese Authorities of
Canton.
